How To Apply Your Lipstick Perfectly

A lipstick can complete a person’s look. A great-looking lip can transform your face and set off your style.

There are many types of lipsticks such as follows:-

  • Sheer – Lipstick that offers a light touch of color. It is less heavy than the traditional lipstick.
  • Gloss – Gloss lipstick adds a bit of shine
  • Cream – This lipstick is more waxier and heavier than sheer lipstick
  • Matte –  A matte lipstick is long-lasting, heavier, and has a shine-free formula

For a casual look, opt for light gloss in pink or peach. Looking for some dramatic flair? Matte reds and maroon can do the trick

No one likes it when their lipsticks smear or fade quickly. If you are wondering how to have a gorgeous, long-lasting pout, here is a step-by-step tutorial on applying lipstick so that it stays on for hours.

Techniques To Apply Lipstick

It may look pretty easy to apply lipstick with just a simple swipe on the lips. Taking some time to complete a few more steps will help to nail a lip look that will last longer.

Step 1: Prepare Your Lips

It’s important to prep your lips before you add the color. This will prevent your lips from looking flakey, uneven or patchy. Remove dead skin by exfoliating your lips with a lip scrub.  This step will also help to create a smooth canvas and make your lips supple. Use a lip mask to add some hydration if you have dry lips. Then seal in the moisture with a lip balm or conditioner.

Step 2: Define Your Lips With Lip Liner

Before putting on any lipstick, use a well-sharpened lip liner to draw around your lips. Remember to get one that matches the color of your lipstick. Outline your lip line carefully by starting from the center of your lips to the corners of your mouth. For a fuller pout, you can try to extend the color outside your natural lip line. Fill in the lips with the lip liner. This little trick will create another layer to make the lipstick last longer.

Step 3: Apply Lipstick

For more control over the amount of color you want on your lips, use a lip brush. This will also help to give you a more precise and even application. If you want more color, apply the lipstick directly from the tube. Start from the center of your lips and work your way outward. Blot the lips with a tissue and reapply another layer. This is a good way to remove any excess lightly. If you are still worried about your lipstick fading, add a layer of pressed powder between the first and second coats.

Step 4: Finish Off With Gloss

You can skip this step if you prefer a matte look. But if you want a bit of shine, add a coat of lip gloss. This will give you luscious lips. You can also transform a matte lip into a glossy one with a non-sticky, long-lasting formula.
